European telecommunication operator ups revenue in Kazakhstan

European telecommunication operator Tele2 increased revenues by 14 percent in Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013, the company reported on April 28.

The company's revenues hit 7.7 billion tenge (182.01 tenge =$1) in this period.

Tele2's EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) was positive during all the reporting period and amounted to $15.3 million tenge. In the same period of 2013, company's EBITDA was negative in the amount of 1.05 billion tenge.

The company's capital expenditures (CAPEX) in the reporting period amounted to 1.7 billion tenge compared to 2.04 billion tenge in the first quarter of 2013.

Tele2's subscriber's base amounted to 2.771 million subscribers as of 31 March 2014.
