Kazakh Kcell slightly ups profit in Jan.-Sept.

Kcell company, a leading operator in Kazakh telecommunication market increased its net profit by 1.1 percent in January-September 2014 compared to the same period of 2014, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported on Oct. 17 citing the company's message.

The company's net profit reached 45.604 billion tenge (181.50 tenge = $1).

The company's revenue increased by 2.3 percent, reaching 141.307 billion tenge in the mentioned period. EBITDA (excluding non-recurring items) increased by 6.2 percent to 80.833 billion tenge. EBITDA margin increased to 57.2 percent from 55.1 percent a year ago.

Operating income increased by 6.6 percent to 62.645 billion tenge. Free cash flow of the company decreased by 14.6 percent to 52.088 billion tenge in January-September 2014.

Kcell was established in 1998 and since February 1999 began rendering services of cellular communication under the trade mark Kcell. As of Dec. 31, 2013 the company's subscriber data base was 14.3 million.

Kcell is affiliated with TeliaSonera, the largest Scandinavian telecommunications holding.
