Uzbekistan resumes flights to UAE's Sharjah

Uzbekistan Airways has resumed flights to Sharjah city of the United Arab Emirates, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekistan Airways.

Flights on the route Tashkent - Sharjah - Tashkent will be operated on Tuesdays starting from November 3. On Oct. 21 the cost of tickets ranges from 2.6 to 12.6 million soums ($250-$1,215), depending on the class.

In addition, the company is starting to implement flights to Dubai more often. From October, 25 lights will be operated with a frequency of four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Uzbekistan Airways has also announced a decrease in the cost of economy class air tickets on this route. On Oct. 21 the cost of a ticket is three million soums ($289).

Earlier, low-cost airline Air Arabia received permission to fly to Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Transport then reported that the company would operate regular flights on the Abu Dhabi - Tashkent - Abu Dhabi route, but Air Arabia decided to start flights from Sharjah, which is the third largest city in the UAE.

Air Arabia will operate flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays on Airbus A320 aircraft. The first flight is scheduled for November 4.
