Passenger transportation through the Ardabil International Airport and Parsabad Moghan Airport in the Ardabil Province (north-western Iran) decreased by 11 percent and 28 percent, respectively, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, 82,800 passengers were transported through Ardabil International Airport in 6 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 92,900 passengers.
The Ardabil International Airport received 1,310 passenger planes over six months, which is a decrease of 1 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 1,320 passenger planes had been received by the airport in the same period last Iranian year.
In addition, 615 tons of cargo was transported through the Ardabil International Airport during the reporting period. Cargo transportation did not change compared the same period last Iranian year.
“As for passenger transportation through Parsabad Moghan Airport, the number of passengers transported through the airport for the 6 months amounted to 3,090. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, 4,270 passengers had been transported through this airport,” the statistics said.
Within the mentioned period, Parsabad Moghan Airport has received 92 passenger planes. The figure also stood at 92 units in the same period last Iranian year.
According to the statistics, 26 tons of cargo was transported through this airport in 6 months. Cargo transportation decreased by 17 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 32 tons of cargo had been transported through the airport in the same period last Iranian year.
