BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. A project to increase the number of electrobuses in Baku is planned for next year, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, Rahman Hummatov said, Trend reports.
He spoke at the presentation of the "Mobility Transformation Program in Azerbaijan.".
"As you know, Azerbaijan will host COP29 [the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change] next year. We will see new electrobuses on the streets of Baku more often, starting next year," he noted.
The Eastern European regional group selected Azerbaijan to host the COP29 next year. The decision to host COP29 in the country was officially announced in Dubai during COP28 on December 11. COP29 is planned to take place in November 2024.
The first electrobus in Baku entered the route line in September this year.
