(gazeta.kz) - UK supports Kazakhstan's accession to WTO. British Prime Minister Tony Blair made such statement at a press conference in London after his meeting with Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, reports Trend
Mr. Blair noted that "this visit reflects a strong relationship between Great Britain and Kazakhstan. Our country is the second biggest investor into the Kazakhstani economy. We are planning to actively develop the bilateral co-operation not only in the commercial and economic area. We are efficiently co-operating in the air services and regional security."
"Kazakhstan is an example for the entire region. We need stable partners. Therefore I believe that Europe has to start a qualitatively new relationship with Kazakhstan as a strategic partner. I would like Great Britain to become a leading partner of Kazakhstan in this respect. Not only in trade, but also in politics," - he said.
The President of RK in his turn stressed that "the Kazakh-British economic co-operation is developing dynamically. Today four Kazakhstani companies allocated their shares at the London Stock Exchange, one of which entered the top hundred biggest LSE companies."
"I am accompanied by a big group of Kazakhstani businessmen that will develop the bilateral economic relationship. Now when Kazakhstan has become a leader of the economic reforms, an open market economy the World Bank mentioned our country as one of the most attractive for investments countries," - he said.
