DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 5. The Sangtuda-1 Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) in Tajikistan is prepared for winter operations, Trend reports.
The data from Sangtuda-1 HPP OJSC indicates that a comprehensive inspection has verified that the primary and additional readiness conditions for the power station to operate during the autumn-winter season have been fully met.
The commission has assessed Sangtuda-1 HPP OJSC with a readiness index of 1, indicating that HPP is fully ready for operations during the autumn and winter.
The yearly inspection to see if the hydroelectric power station is ready for the winter evaluates whether the company can operate without interruptions and stay stable during this time.
Sangtuda-1 HPP was constructed with the support of Russia and Russian energy companies as part of their strategic cooperation with Tajikistan in the field of electric power. Russia's investments in the construction of the hydroelectric power station exceeded 16 billion rubles ($174 million).
Sangtuda-1 HPP, with an installed capacity of 670 MW, ranks among the three largest hydroelectric power stations in Tajikistan, alongside the Nurek HPP (3,000 MW) and the Baypazin HPP (600 MW). The station is located in the Khatlon region.
