TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 29. Gazprom plans to finish the second stage of the Central Asia – Center corridor enhancement by November 1 of 2025, Chairman of Russian Gazprom Alexei Miller said, Trend reports.
The remark was made during the Gazprom briefing on the preliminary results of 2023.
The chairman mentioned that the implementation of the second stage to enhance gas transportation capacities in the Central Asia – Center corridor has commenced.
“The goal is to commence the supply of significantly large gas volumes by November 1, 2025,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Presidents of Uzbekistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan launched Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan on October 7 of 2023.
The gas supply agreement is designed for two years and provides for the supply of 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Transit is carried out via the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline.
Moreover, Uzbekistan and Gazprom signed a Memorandum on Cooperation in the Energy Sector earlier this month to develop cooperation in the field of gas supplies and transportation, as well as in the field of exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
