Over 15 million Iranian people face drug addiction: commander of Iranian police

About 1.2 million drug addicts have been registered in Iran, Secretary-General of Iran's Drug Control Headquarters and Iranian national police Chief General Ismail Ahmadi-Moqaddam said.

About 1.2 million drug addicts have been registered in Iran, Secretary-General of Iran's Drug Control Headquarters and Iranian national police Chief General Ismail Ahmadi-Moqaddam said.  

"About 10-15 million of Iranian people can face the threat to be drug addicts," Moqaddam said, Mehr agency reported.

Moqaddam said that at present, it is the most serious problem for the country. Public-enlightenment work is being held to solve this problem.

According to the unofficial information, at present, Iran has more than 6 million of drug addicts.
