Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham strongly criticized US Secretary of State John Kerry for his recent remarks against Iran, and said that Washington is trying to create a negative atmosphere over Iran-world powers talks, IRNA reported.
ˈThe US is trying to impose a negative atmosphere over the negotiations which will face Iranˈs reciprocal attempt,ˈ Afkham said.
She noted that while the US officials should be after attracting the Iranian nationˈs public opinion with regard to their several-decade-old animosity against Iran, they are apparently insisting on their unrealistic and ambiguous outlook vis-à-vis Islamic Republic of Iran.
ˈWhile only few days are remaining to the new round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany), such statements darkens the positive atmosphere of talks,ˈ the foreign ministry spokeswoman said.
Afkham pointed to firm stance of Iranians with regard to their inalienable rights and the fact that they will never withdraw from it, and recommended the American side not to pave the already tested path and avoid pressing Iran to change its military stance on its nuclear activities.
