Deputy Director of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Yaghmour Qolizadeh said that the country's technical and engineering services, and non-oil exports are expected to reach $60 billion by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2015).
Yaghmour Qolizadeh said that the country's non-oil exports are expected to reach $49 billion by the end of year, while the technical and engineering services exports are schedule to hit $12 billion, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on October 14.
"Iran exported $28 billion worth of non-oil goods and technical and engineering services in the first half of the current year," he said.
"Non-oil goods exports accounted for $23 billion of the mentioned figure," he noted.
"Iran also imported $26 billion worth of goods in the mentioned six months," Qolizadeh added.
He went on to note that Iran's trade balance was $2 billion in the first half of current year.
It was previously reported that Iran exported $14.36 billion worth of non-oil goods and technical and engineering services to foreign countries in the first five months of current Iranian calendar year (starts on March 21).
The figure shows 4 percent increase compared to the same period previous year, Iran's IRIB News Agency reported on September 23.
Iran exported $5.699 billion worth of petrochemicals and $8.083 worth of non-oil goods in the mentioned period. So the country's technical and engineering exports were around $700 million.
The country exported 31.858 million tons of non-oil goods in the mentioned period.
China with $3.842 billion, Iraq with $2.212 billion, the United Arab Emirates with $1.504 billion, Afghanistan with $1.078 billion, and India with $884 million were the five major importers of Iranian goods.
Iran also exported $5.857 billion worth of gas condensates in the first five months of current year.
