Iran’s private sector succeeded in obtaining the necessary standards for exporting electrical equipment used in oil sphere to Iraq, said Alireza Kolahi Samadi, a member of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce, ILNA reported.

Until now, only European companies could get such standards, he noted.

He said that despite many problems caused by the sanctions, the Iranian private sector, by obtaining the necessary standards for exporting electrical equipment related to the production of wires and heavy cables, has gained a considerable share in the Iraqi oil market.

Despite many problems in Iran’s electricity industry, the private sector has the opportunity to market world-class products, he said.

“The Iranian government, with its principal and long-term support to the electrical industry producers, can increase the export of this sector’s products by about $5 billion over the next 10 years,” he said.
