Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is expected to leave Tehran for India on Thursday morning.
Parviz Esmaeili, the deputy head for communications and information at the Iranian president's office, has said that the three-day visit is taking place at the official invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ISNA news agency reported.
Esmaeili added that Hyderabad, the capital of southern Indian state of Telangana, will be President Rouhani’s first destination.
Saying that the visit is aimed at deepening bilateral ties, he added that the official welcoming ceremony will be held on Saturday.
During the visit the sides are expected to exchange documents and MoUs on cooperation, he added.
President Rouhani is scheduled to return home on Saturday evening.
