The volume of remittances inflow to Georgia from January through October 2021 amounted to $1.9 billion, compared to $1.8 billion over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The remittances in Georgia in October 2021 amounted to $206.6 million, which is $3.1 million less than in September 2021 ($209.7 million), and $24.9 million more than over the same period of 2020 ($181.7 million).
TOP-10 countries with largest amount of transferred money into Georgia in October 2021:
Russia – $36.2 million;
Italy – $33 million;
the US – $23.7 million;
Greece – $19.1 million;
Israel – $15.2 million;
Germany – $10.8 million;
Turkey – $8.5 million;
Kazakhstan – $7.3 million;
Ukraine – $7.2 million;
Azerbaijan – $7.1 million.
Meanwhile, money transfers from Georgia from January through October 2021 amounted to $251.7 million, which is an increase of 25.6 percent compared to $200.3 million over the same period of 2020.
