In Syria, armed extremists associated with Al Qaeda, have taken a group of Petroleum Engineers hostage, The Voice of Russia reported.
According to the SANA News Agency the bus they were travelling on was stopped on Saturday in the province of Deir ez-Zor in the north-east of the country and the hostages were taken to an unknown destination.
Syrian security forces are currently searching for the kidnappers and the victims.
Meanwhile the fate of 11 Shiite Pilgrims from Lebanon, taken hostage on Tuesday in northern Syria, is also still unknown as reports of their release and their sightings in Turkey have not yet been confirmed.
Earlier it was reported that the pilgrims had been kidnapped by extremist militants of the group Martyrs of the Revolution, which is not connected to the Free Syrian Army rebel group.
