The Turkish court issued the verdict against www.booking.com, the biggest online hotel reservation website, Trend reports on Oct. 18 referring to the Turkish media.

According to the verdict, the website, which violated the law on competition in the Turkish hotel market, must pay 500,000 liras ($86.39) to the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB).

After payment of the above-mentioned amount, the website will be able to resume the activity in Turkey.

The court in Istanbul decided to block the website in early 2017.

The court made such a decision during the consideration of the lawsuit filed by TURSAB. The lawyers representing TURSAB claim that the website violates the law on competition in the country’s hotel market.

The website has already been fined in Turkey at 2.5 million Turkish liras ($424.36) for unfair competition. The lawsuit was also filed by TURSAB lawyers.
