Nothing can make Georgia to retreat, Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili said in his appeal to the Georgian people about the June 6 attack on a Georgian military base in Afghanistan on Friday.

Ivanishvili said that Georgia will continue to fight for the security of the world and for peaceful Georgia.

"Today is a hard day Georgia. A Georgian unit involved in the NATO mission was attacked yesterday. Seven soldiers were killed and nine wounded. I want to express my deepest regret at this tragedy, I bow down before the killed soldiers, I express condolences to all of Georgia, and share the pain of the family each soldier cannot be relieved. The whole of Georgia is mourning together with them today," the appeal says.

The prime minister noted that the country has brought a tremendous sacrifice in the struggle for international security.

"And the whole world knows that. Terrorism is the biggest challenge of the 21th century, and the struggle against it is the most difficult and yet very honorable mission that the Georgian military perform adequately. These guys are defending their homeland in a foreign land, stand guard over our national stability, our security. Secretary of Defense is already in Afghanistan by my order. We will continue the struggle for security in the world and for peaceful Georgia," Ivanishvili added.
