Qatari Environment Minister Abdullah bin Mubarak bin Aboud Al Meadadi held talks at the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, Turkmen state news agency reported.
Qatari official arrived in Ashgabat to establish bilateral cooperation in environmental protection.
The state news agency reported the meeting touched on issues such as protection of water and land resources, conservation and protection of biodiversity, improving the system of specially protected natural reserves.
The parties expressed their desire to enhance cooperation on a regular and long-term basis, which will help to accelerate the implementation of best practices in resolving modern environmental challenges.
Recently, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov received the invitation on an official visit to Qatar.
Turkmenistan has recently intensified its cooperation with Arab countries, especially UAE and Saudi Arabia.
