Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Gafarov / On 16 December, the Azerbaijan intellectuals will hold a rally to the mass burial in Guba, District of Azerbaijan. In the beginning of 2007, a mass entombment of people was discovered during the construction of a new stadium in Guba. The research of the Azerbaijan scientists and members of expert group of Archeology and Ethnography Institute, showed that the mass burial is of the victims of the genocide committed by the Armenians in 1918, in Guba. Till now, remains of 160 people have been discovered.
This territory is densely populated with the Jews, residing in Guba. Therefore, the remains of Jews who became victims of Armenian dashnaks have also been found in the mass burial.
Before the rally, the 25 Azerbaijan intellectuals headed by, Yagub Mahmudov, the Director of History Institute of Azerbaijan's National Academy of Sciences, will hold a scientific conference 'History of the north-eastern region: The Prospects of the development of contemporary situation' in Guba Executive Power. The conference will focus on the facts of fabrication of the history by Armenian scientists'. After the conference, the intellectuals will head to the mass burial. The aim of the rally to the mass burial is to present to the world public the genocide committed by the Armenians. Guba is located in 170km from Baku.
