Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 26 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /
The monitoring group against children's violence was created in Azerbaijan.
The new organization was established by Helsinki Citizen's Assembly, Azerbaijan's Union of Children, Birliya dogru (towards unity) Public Union of Disabled and Homeless Children, Dalga (Wave) Youth Movement, graduates from Netherlands' Schoolof Journalism (AzNAN) and reporters working in different newspapers. The group aims to jointly combat violence against children, Helsinki Citizen's Assembly told Trend on Feb. 26.
The group will conduct monitoring in boarding schools, children's homes and take an interest in condition of homeless children. The monitoring group will operate on public intention and protect only children, as well as plans to carry out joint operations with law enforcement agencies. The monitoring group intends to conduct the first meeting next week.
