The astonishing interlacement of trans-cultures in Baku is a fine ground for excellent, interesting movies, Russian film director Yegor Konchalovsky told a press conference in Baku on Saturday.

In line with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's initiative, famous Russian film director Yegor Konchalovsky is going to launch a new project: a full-length art film devoted to Baku. Azerbaijani, Russian, French and British film directors will work over the film to be produced by Leila Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

"It is a great honor for me to carry out a project in Baku; I have a lot of friends here, but I must spend time, work and become aware of the city in details in order to receive understanding of the country and its nation. I look optimistically at this project as production of such a film is cognitive. I very much like Baku, which gives me the opportunity to shoot a fine movie to show and tell about modern Azerbaijan," Konchalovsky said.

He noted that ten film directors from different countries will shoot ten novels of one hero-Baku city. The film directors will be predominantly Azerbaijanis; however, several foreign film directors will partake, too.

"We will have to do a big work as we plan to put ten stories to be shot together within one month. Each story will have its own casting and composition of actors though it will not last longer than 10 minutes," the Russian film director said.

The film will be shot next March and April. "We plan to complete the film by the early 2013. We would also like famous actors, including European ones to be shot in this film," Konchalovsky noted.

The film will consist of stories, which could have happened, perhaps, in Baku only. "The film will be shot in different languages and dubbed later," the film director added. A great advantage of this project is that anyone, after having watched such a film, finds his own history in it.
Currently, the film is being script written so approximate dates of its being shot or film's title are unknown yet.

Similar projects have already been carried out throughout the world. There were shot films titled "Paris, I Love You", "New York, I Love You", and "Moscow, I Love You".
