BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. The average monthly nominal wages of employees in Azerbaijan's capital Baku in January 2022 grew, Trend reports via the Baku Statistics Department.
According to the department, this figure amounted to 974.7 manat ($573.3), up by 8.2 percent compared to January last year.
Over the reporting period, the growth of the monthly average nominal wages was recorded in the mining industry, the financial and insurance sectors, in the sphere of information and communications, construction, as well as the transport and warehousing sectors.
The number of employees in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.6 million people, of whom 901,000 were in the public sector and 778,100 were in the private sector, in January this year.
