Azerbaijan increases lending to agricultural sector in 10M2021

The volume of loans issued to the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan from January through October 2021 grew, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 573.8 million manat ($337.5 million), up by 21.6 million manat ($12.7 million) or 3.9 percent compared to the first ten months of 2020 (552.2 million manat or $324.8 million).

The volume of short-term loans issued to agricultural entities, excluding loans issued by non-bank credit organizations and non-performing loans, equaled 33.6 million manat ($19.7 million). Of these, 21.4 million manat ($12.6 million) accounted for loans in manat currency and 12.2 million manat ($7.18 million) - in foreign currency.

Some 513.6 million manat ($302.1 million) of the agricultural lending accounted for long-term loans, of which 385.4 million manat ($226.7 million) and 128.2 million manat ($75.4 million) were issued in national and foreign currency, respectively.

The share of the agricultural sector in the total lending to the real sector was 3.5 percent (a decrease of 0.2 percent on annual basis).
