The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 9.4 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June21, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 11.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the 3rd month. Of this, 6.53 million tons were loaded and 4.93 million tons were unloaded.

“About 4.25 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month, which is an increase of 22.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 2.57 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded, 1.68 million tons were unloaded. The loaded products increased by 32 percent, while the unloaded products - by 9.7 percent compared to the same month of the preceding Iranian year,” the statistics said.

In addition, 2.01 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is an increase of 16.3 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 1.84 million tons were unloaded and 174,000 tons were loaded.

According to the statistics, about 1.14 million tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the third month, which is an increase of 89.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 49,700 tons were unloaded and about 1.09 million tons were loaded.

“At the same time, about 1.43 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is a decrease of 28.8 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 155,000 tons were unloaded and 1.27 million tons were loaded,” said the report.

Within the third month, 34,000 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports, which is an increase of 3.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 30,700 tons were unloaded and 3,300 tons were loaded.

According to the statistics, 289,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. This is a decrease of 5.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 83,000 tons were unloaded and about 206,000 tons were loaded.

“Furthermore, 53,600 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 3rd month, that is a decrease of 39.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 48,000 tons of goods were unloaded and 5,460 tons were loaded,” the report said.

As well as, 514,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in the Iranian period during the same month. The loaded/unloaded products increased by 13.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 261,000 tons were unloaded and 253,000 tons were loaded, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 1.74 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month, which is a decrease of 2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. About 794,000 tons of products were unloaded and 952,000 tons were loaded.

“Moreover, about 5.58 million tons of goods were exported and 2.56 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Also, 313,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 297,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 516,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.9 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage in the 3rd month. Also, 116,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 101,000 tons were unloaded for transshipment.

“Over the third month, about 10,900 tons of cargo were loaded and 67,500 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
