Turkmenistan sets number of fees, charges for int'l cargo transportation

A number of fees and charges have been established in Turkmenistan in order to streamline international cargo transportation, Trend reports citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

According to the information, corresponding payments and fees have been established for owners of road tractors of foreign countries in case of non-use of freight trailers and semi-trailers of foreign countries when importing goods into Turkmenistan and transit through its territory.

It is reported that these payments and fees are extended to the countries participating in the Agreement between the governments of Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on the establishment of the International Transport and Transit Corridor (Ashgabat Agreement) and the Agreement on the Lapis Lazuli route.

This requirement applies for the period from November 15, 2021 to November 15, 2022.

It is noted that these measures are aimed at increasing competitiveness in international transport.
