As part of the World Turkic Forum, organized by Turkish-Asian Center for Strategic Studies (TASAM), the main theme of which was "Turkic Council, Turkic diaspora and Socio-economic cooperation, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva made speeches at several Turkish television channels, including state TRT and gave interviews to several Turkish newspapers.
As part of the Forum, the MP met with members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Turkish political analysts, academics, NGO leaders, media representatives, scientists and cultural figures and politicians of Turkic origin, who arrived from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, America, France, Germany, Finland, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Bulgaria and other countries.
In her speeches on TV, in interviews to newspapers and at meetings, Pashayeva provided details about the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories, the Khojaly Genocide, one million Azerbaijanis living as refugees and internally displaced persons and Armenia's obstacles in returning people to their homes.
The MP also mentioned the expansion of cooperation of the Azerbaijani state with the Turkic states and nations, and the work carried out in the field of joint activities of diasporas in order to achieve common goals.
Pashayeva stressed that the Nagorno-Karabakh problem does not only belong to Azerbaijan, but is a problem of the whole Turkic world, and the Turks living all over the world should do everything possible to further increase efforts to solve this problem.
"We must jointly combat the lies of the so-called "Armenian genocide", move from defenсe to attack, work together to inform the world and achieve the recognition of the genocide committed by Armenians 18 years ago in Khojaly before the eyes of the world," said Pashayeva.
Remembering Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's words "we must move from defence to attack", which he said during a speech on the suppression of Armenian lies at the Congress of Turkic Peoples, the MP spoke about Azerbaijan's progress in this regard and stressed that all Turks must fight together against the false campaign organized by the Armenians in the world in connection with the claims of so-called "Armenian genocide", Azerbaijan and its integral part of Karabakh.
MP provided many participants the books and materials prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation regarding the realities of Azerbaijan, the Karabakh problem, Khojaly genocide.
The Forum was also attended by the chairman of the State Committee for Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, MPs Fazil Gazanfaroglu, Sabir Rustamkhanli, chairperson of the Commonwealth of Azerbaijani and Turkish Women Tanzila Rustamkhanli, leaders of some organizations, non-governmental sector and the diaspora.
