Georgia, Tbilisi, June 3 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia / Representatives of the opposition Alliance for Georgia, Manana Nachkebia, Pikriya Chikhradze and Sofo Horguani met with the Ombudsman on June 3.
According to their information, the main purpose of the meeting was to present to Ombudsman the evidence of political persecution of opposition activists.
It was said at the meeting that a serious political persecution of activists takes place, particularly those who have expressed their opinion that differs from the position of the government become victims of violence, persecution and arrest.
For example, two members of the "New Right" Buba and Bahva Kikabidze were detained by police in Samtskhe-Javakheti because they actively participated in actions of opposition.
The opposition protests against such actions.
If such facts will be recorded in any region, the opposition leaders and their supporters will go there hold a protest action, said Manana Nachkebia.
