Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has hosted the opening ceremony of the Third International Student Research and Science Conferences dedicated to the 99th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov noted that it is very important that such prestigious scientific conferences are being held at Baku Higher Oil School.
“We are indebted to the great leader Heydar Aliyev for the achievements made by Azerbaijan in all directions. Scientific conferences dedicated to the anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev have been held at Baku Higher Oil School for 10 years. The fact that the conferences have been held at the international level for the third year in a row is a matter of pride for us. One of the important missions of our university is the training and support of young scientists. This is also a great contribution to Azerbaijani science. Graduates of our university participated in these scientific conferences, and now they work here as teachers and are already conducting scientific research at the international level. National cadres are national pride.”
Wishing success to the conference participants and their scientific supervisors, Academician Vagif Abbasov stressed that Baku Higher Oil School is an exemplary institution of higher education. He highly appreciated the university's commitment to the sacred mission of training scientists.
Adviser to the Minister of Education Nijat Mammadli noted that there is great potential for expanding scientific cooperation in high-level English-speaking higher education institutions, such as Baku Higher Oil School. He stressed that the university has created all the conditions for the development of science at the leadership level.
SOCAR Vice President Raju Valiyev noted that students of Baku Higher Oil School become high-level professionals upon completing their studies at the university.
“It is gratifying that young people studying at BHOS can correctly and effectively use the conditions created for them here. Graduates of this university are highly qualified specialists. The training of such talented young people and specialists is a success for our country, the state and SOCAR.”
SOCAR Chief Geologist Arzu Javadova and Director of the Oil and Gas Research and Design Institute Fakhraddin Ismayilov gave their recommendations to young scientists and expressed their readiness to provide all possible support for their development.
101 BHOS students are taking part in the conferences. The Third International Student Research and Science Conferences, which are being held from April 18 to 29, cover such topics as “Petroleum Geoscience and Engineering”, “Process Automation and Information Security 2022”, “Sustainable Development in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering”.
238 theses had been selected and presented to the conferences this year. 101 of them were prepared by students of Baku Higher Oil School.
The evaluation of the conference participants is being conducted by the BHOS faculty, representatives of the companies Schneider Electric, SOCAR AQŞ LLC, BP and representatives of ANAS Institute of Petrochemical Processes, ANAS Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, ANAS Institute of Control Systems, ANAS Institute of Chemistry of Additives.
Students and young researchers from Baku Higher Oil School, SOCAR Oil and Gas Research and Design Institute, Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University , Azerbaijan State Economic University, Sumgait State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Ganja State University, National Aviation Academy, Baku Engineering University, Lankaran State University, Mingachevir State University, Middle East Technical University, Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, ANAS Institutes have made presentations at the conferences.
BHOS partners in the conferences are SOCAR Polymer LLC, SOCAR AQŞ LLC, BP, Kinetics Technology, ABB Global Marketing, Avandsis Group MMM, Emerson Process Management, and Schlumberger.
In 2013, the First Student Scientific and Technical Conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held for the first time within the Information and Communication Technologies section of Baku Higher Oil School. In 2018-2019, republican scientific and technical conferences were held. Since 2020, international scientific conferences have been held.
