Turkmenistan exploring possibility of producing cement from local raw materials

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 4

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan is exploring deposits of flask, which will be used in the production of cement, Trend reports with reference to the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age).

The use of flask in the production of cement reduces the cost of the material and increases its strength, as well as increases the water and sulfate resistance of concrete in fresh and sulfate waters.

Flask is a cheap and widely used raw material for the cement industry, the report says.

The expediency of using reserves of natural material of sedimentary origin as a mineral additive in the production of sulfate-resistant cement has been confirmed by specialists of the Lebap cement plant of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan, that plans to use local raw materials to improve product quality.

As it was reported earlier, the Minister of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan is working to develop the industrial sector based on rich deposits of minerals and raw materials.

The priority direction of the building materials industry is the production of cement in Turkmenistan. The country's factories produce Portland cement, which is used in the construction of multi-storey buildings and other objects in the seismic zone.

In addition, production of grouting cement for the oil and gas industry, as well as sulfate-resistant cement used for laying foundations, building bridge supports and other hydraulic structures has been established.
