A total of 868,000 tons of goods worth more than 95.2 trillion rials (about $2.26 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (December 5 through December 10), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
According to the report, this is an increase of 53 percent in terms of value and 70 percent in terms of volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (November 28 through December 3).
So, 508,000 tons of goods worth more than 62 trillion rials (about $1.47 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.
More than 471,000 tons of goods worth about 57 trillion rials (about $1.36 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME.
"Thus, 464,000 tons of steel, 1,890 tons of aluminum, 3,410 tons of copper, 120 tons of molybdenum sulfur, 15 tons of precious metal concentrate, 24 kg of gold bars, 500 tons of cast iron, and 1,500 tons of coke were sold in this section," the report said.
In addition, 396,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 38.2 trillion rials (about $910 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME in the last Iranian week, the report said.
According to the report, 115,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 141,000 tons of bitumen, 64,400 tons of polymeric substances, 34,700 tons of chemicals, 22,000 tons of lube cut, 250 tons of glass facades, 1,810 tons base oil, 150 tons of argon, and 15,000 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.
Furthermore, 590 tons of various products were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
