Kazakh KazTransGas Aimak announces results of production activity in 2013

Kazakh KazTransGas Aimak JSC (KTGA) sold around 9.095 billion cubic meters of gas in 2013, the JSC said on Jan. 30.

The volume of gas transportation of the JSC hit 6,374,265,000 cubic meters which is 11.5 percent more than in 2012, the JSC said.

The company's revenues during the reporting period amounted to 114.524 billion tenge (155.50 tenge= $1), according to the company. The company's net profit as of 2013 amounted to 1.995 billion tenge which is two percent more than the planned volume.

The total length of distribution and main gas pipelines under the operation of KTGA JSC increased 22 percent and amounted to 26,646 kilometers last year. The company's assets increased 39 percent, from 101 billion tenge to 140 billion tenge during the reporting period.

The total number of subscribers of the JSC amounted to 1.056 million during the reporting period. Moreover, some 40,470 houses and apartments were connected to the gas supply system within the gasification program.

KTGA JCS entered the gas supply market of Kostanai and East Kazakhstan provinces in 2013, in parallel with the decision on gasification of the city of Zaysan, a new base, East Kazakhstan production branch was created in the region.

The company has successfully passed all necessary corporate procedures, by connecting Arkagaz JSC to itself and taking the control of Aktaugazservis JSC. Thus, the company completed the stage of combining the distribution networks all over the country as the sole operator in the domestic market of gas supply in 2013.

The large-scale program to replace and upgrade the gas supply networks in the southern regions of Kazakhstan is giving tangible results, the company said. Half of the subscribers in Shymkent will receive gas from the new updated system. As part of the modernization of gas distribution networks in the city of Taraz, it is planned to radically change the entire gas transportation network by switching to a two-tier system of gas supply, which in turn will provide an uninterrupted supply of gas to all consumers.

Around 271.13 kilometers of new gas pipelines was constructed in the city of Taraz in 2013. Additionally, some 3,392 individual cabinets were installed, and over 5,500 subscribers were reconnected to the new gas supply scheme.

The company successfully implemented the project in the Atyrau region in 2013, aimed at providing an integrated gas chemical complex with gas. The automated gas distribution station and a high pressure gas pipeline stretching 7.6 kilometers were constructed.

Two automated gas distribution stations with a capacity of 90,000 and 10,000 cubic meters per hour were also built.

A gas pipeline stretching from Beyneu - Bozoi -Shymkent gas pipeline to the city of Turkestan was commissioned on December 20, 2013.

KazTransGas Aimak began examining the underground gas pipelines in the Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Mangistau regions to determine the technical state of the gas supply network in 2014.

The small towns are planned to be provided with gas in the Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, South Kazakhstan regions in 2014.

The company's portfolio of investment projects on the renewal and expansion of gas distribution networks will reach more than 200 billion tenge up to 2018.

KazTransGas Aimak was established in April 2002. The only shareholder of the company is KazTransGas. The activity is aimed at transporting gas through the distribution networks.

Today KazTransGas Aimak operates in nine gasified regions of Kazakhstan, namely, South Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Atyrau, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Mangistau and East Kazakhstan regions by covering 90 percent of the sales market of tank gas in the country.
