BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 4

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Italian ENI will support the activity of the International Center for the Development of Oil and Gas Engineering, which is to be set up in Kazakhstan to develop oil and gas engineering, the ENI official told Trend.

On Nov. 30, 2020, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar took part in the signing ceremony of an agreement on the establishment of the International Center for the Development of Oil and Gas Engineering.

The purpose of the Center operations is to localize the production of goods for the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan by opening new industrial enterprises and service centers, promoting investment activities.

The ENI official noted that the new center is created by NCOC, KPO, and TCO and Eni participates in the activity of the two major projects mentioned above (partner of NCOC and co-operator of KPO).

“Thus, the Company will support the activity of the Center through its JVs and will share its international expertise and best practices as always done worldwide,” the official said.

This initiative is expected to provide additional support to local producers and is to facilitate their maximum involvement in purchases carried out by operators of oil and gas projects.

Eni has been present in Kazakhstan since 1992. Eni is a joint operator of the Karachaganak field and is an equity partner in various projects in the Northern Caspian Sea, including the giant Kashagan field. Eni is the joint subsoil user and joint operator, with KMG, of the offshore exploration blocks Isatay and Abay. Equity production is currently 180,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
