Loading, unloading volume of cargoes at Iran ports drops

The total amount of products loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports between March 2015-2016 (last fiscal year, which ended on March 20), fell by 10 percent compared to the preceding year.

According to the country's Ports and Maritime Organization, over the last fiscal year 243,974,396 tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at about 28 ports across the country.

The statistics also suggests that the volume of the non-oil products loaded or unloaded dropped by 16 percent while the figure for oil products has decreased by five percent.

Loading

The figure for total amount of loaded oil and non-oil products at the country's ports has decreased by 1.2 percent falling from 174,409,183 in the Iranian calendar year of 1993 to 172,301,246 tons in the Iranian year of 1394.

The figure for loading oil products in the last Iranian fiscal year is 116,307,337 tons which has increased by three percent compared to 112,832,406 tons in the preceding year.

In the mentioned period 55,993,909 tons of non-oil products were loaded from Iranian ports which shows nine percent fall compared to 61,578,777 tons in Iranian year of 1393.

Unloading

The total amount of unloading for oil and non-oil cargoes has dropped by 24.7 percent decreasing to 71,673,150 from 95272820 in the previous year.

According to the statistics, 27,301,399 tons of oil products have been unloaded, indicating a 27.6-percent fall compared to 37,725,165 tons in the preceding year.

Iran also unloaded 44,371,752 tons of non-oil products at its ports which dropped by 22.9 percent compared to 57,547,656 tons in 1393.

The ports such as Shahid Rajai (64,500,662 tons), Emam Khomeini( 42,793,853 tons) Asalouyeh (31,449,004 tons), Qeshm (6,971,842 tons), Lavan (5,629,114 tons) were among the most active ports in the mentioned period.
