A suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden motorbike into a NATO convoy in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, injuring 12 Afghan civilians and a police officer, officials said.
There were not immediate reports of casualties among the foreign forces in the attack in Jalalabad, the provincial capital for Nangarhar province, said Ahmad Zai Abdulzai, spokesman for the provincial governor, DPA reported.
Five children were among the 12 civilians injured, while a police officer who had been standing near the scene also sustained injuries, according to the Interior Ministry.
A foreign military vehicle was destroyed in the attack, Abdulzai said.
NATO military officials were not immediately available for comment.
