BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. COP29 will create opportunities for at least consultations among three Southern Caucasian countries, said President Ilham Aliyev as he addressed the international forum themed “COP29 and Green Vision for Azerbaijan” organized by ADA University, Trend reports.
"Right after the Second Karabakh War that we had no time to celebrate, and we didn't celebrate. We worked and we continue to do it because a lot needs to be done.
I think that this agenda will lead to strengthening of security measures in the Caucasus, I mean, in the Southern Caucasus in general, and will create opportunities for at least consultations among three Southern Caucasian countries, which lead the way to future cooperation. I think it's a unique chance now. We've been deprived of that since the collapse of the Soviet Union, unlike the Baltic States, which started their independent journey in a peaceful environment while we had wars. So now, it's a chance to turn that page, and we're doing it, and I think COP29 is an excellent example.
What we are now seeing on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and not you do not see what is behind the scenes. I mean the context between representatives of the two countries. Discussions are more open, more constructive. With respect to the border delimitation, Azerbaijan and Armenia behave in a very constructive way. What is seen is only a part. It is a result, but this result is based on regular contacts and positive dynamics. So, we need to consolidate on that and move forward," said President Ilham Aliyev
