Turkey has recalled its Ambassadors from France and Canada as a sign of protest to recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide in Osman Empire, Trend reports citing the Turkish media.
Along Aydemir Erman, the Turkish Ambassador to Canada, on 8 May Ankara stated on its resolution recall of the Ambassador to France, Osman Koruturk. Namik Tan, spokesman for the Turkish embassy, confirmed the announcement, noting that the ambassadors will soon take up their office.
On 18 May France will discuss a draft law on imprisonment of people who refuse to the so-called Armenian genocide.
Turkish media estimated the steps by Ankara as a warning to possible crisis in interstate relationships with France.
