While visiting a mill plant in Tbilisi, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili stressed the need to build a grain terminal in Georgia.
Minister of Agriculture Bakur Kvezereli said that there are four other mill plants in Georgia. But there are no similar plants in the country.
"However, there is a project. According to it, the terminal must be built in Poti," Minister said.
The president said that the food security of the country will be protected after the regional terminal is established.
"Taking into account our geographic advantages, we must provide not only Georgia but also the Caucasus, Black Sea coast and a part of Central Asia", Saakashvili said.
Georgia has been negotiating with Kazakhstan to build a grain terminal for several years.
