Volume of trade turnover in Turkmenistan increases

The total volume of trade turnover has increased by 6 percent from January through November 2020, compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Trend reports via Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The information was revealed during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held via videoconference.

The volume of cotton yarn produced by enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry increased by 4.9 percent, fabrics – 1.4, clothing and knitwear – 18.3, leather-15.6 percent.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange held 257 trading sessions and signed 26, 830 contracts in 11 months since the beginning of the year.

The growth rate of work performed by Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry increased by 3 percent.

During the reporting period, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan's growth rate of industrial production increased by 8 percent, while agricultural and food production increased by 37.4 percent.

The total volume of trade turnover in Turkmenistan has increased by 8.6 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period last year.
