Kazakhstan’s major project for deep processing of grain – BioOperations JSC – has been restarted following eight years of inactivity, Head of the North Kazakhstan region Kumar Aksakalov said, Trend reports citing Central Communications Service.
Aksakalov noted that agriculture is the main industry for the region. The volume of the region’s agricultural production exceeded last year's indicators and amounted to 700 billion tenge ($1.6 million). The value of investments attracted to the region’s agriculture will be 115 billion tenge ($27.3 million) before the end of the year.
“Despite the drought, a quarter of the country's total grain and a third of oilseeds harvest were collected in the region, which is the result of the implementation of all agrotechnical measures. Agrarians of the region are leading in the country in terms of upgrading equipment and using mineral fertilizers. We must process the products we grow as much as possible. After eight years of inactivity, the largest project for the deep processing of grain was revived. In the nearest future, the third stage of modernization of the plant will be completed, in which the investor invested a total of 12 billion tenge ($28.5 million),” Aksakalov said.
Now, he said, along with starch, gluten, and gluten, the enterprise will produce bioethanol, which increases the octane number of the fuel. In his words, the demand for products is high. An agreement of intent has already been concluded for the supply of bioethanol to the Pavlodar oil refinery. To begin with, it is planned to produce 20,000 tons of bioethanol per year with a gradual increase in volumes to 36,000 tons. This will completely cover the country's need for this product.
