Iran to attract investors to Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

The necessary conditions have been created for investors to invest in the installation of solar panel stations in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (western Iran), Executive Director of the Electricity Distribution Company of the province, Davoud Rahzadi said, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to the director, in this regard, the company is ready to fully support investors.

The director added that several large agricultural projects are being implemented in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. The electricity generation through solar panel stations has become a necessity within the framework of these projects.

Rahzadi noted that 41 solar panel stations have been installed in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. About 11 of them were created by government agencies and 30 by the private sector

“About 141,000-kilowatt hours of electricity was generated through solar panel stations in the province during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through November 20, 2020),” he said.

Rahzadi emphasized that the electricity generated by solar panel stations is purchased by the company for a period of 20 years and at reasonable prices annually.

The director also said that 95 units of 1-kilowatt solar panel stations have been handed over to residents of 13 villages in the province. The value of these stations is about 20 billion rials (about $476,000).

More than 723,000 people live in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. About 44 percent of the population lives in rural areas. There are 265,000 electricity subscribers in this province. Its 210,000 subscribers are in the villages.
