Kazakhstan names coal supplies volume to energy-generating ventures, export

Kazakhstan’s coal-producing companies have extracted 98.1 million tons of coal over 11 months of 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

This includes 52.9 million tons of coal sent to energy-generating ventures, which is 2.7 percent more than during the same period of last year. Some 5.1 million tons of coal were sent to the industrial ventures, 9.4 million tons were used for the communal needs, whereas 26.4 million tons of coal were exported.

In accordance with the plan for the needs of coal products for public utility needs and the population for the period 2020-2021, the consumption volume amounted to about 10 million tons, of which about 2.8 million tons were used in the utility sector, 7.2 million tons were used by the population.

As of December 20, 2020, the provision of the public utility sector with coal is 90.8 percent, of the population is 97.1 percent as compared to 89.5 percent and 89.6 percent last year respectively.

Akimats (administrative centers) of Aktobe, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar regions, and the cities of Almaty and Shymkent fully ensured the supply of coal for the utility sector.

Akimats of Kyzylorda, Akmola, East Kazakhstan, Kostanay regions, cities of Shymkent, Almaty, and Nur-Sultan fully ensured the supply of coal to the population.
