ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 22. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published a forecast for oil production in Kazakhstan following the results of its two-week mission to this country, Trend reports.
Thus, 90 million tons of crude oil and gas condensate will be produced in Kazakhstan by the end of 2023, says the IMF forecast.
At the same time, in 2024, according to the IMF, production will increase insignificantly and amount to 90.3 million tons.
In addition, according to IMF forecasts, production will increase greatly in 2025. Thus, by the end of the year, production should amount to 103 million tons of oil and gas condensate.
The largest fields in Kazakhstan are Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan. Currently, major projects are being implemented at these fields.
The volume of oil production in Kazakhstan amounted to 74.8 million tons, production of petroleum products was 11.2 million tons, and gas production was 48.7 billion cubic meters from January through October 2023.
In 2022, the volume of oil production in Kazakhstan amounted to 84.2 million tons, or 101.6 percent of the planned figure.
The Tengiz field produced 29.2 million tons of oil, or 100 percent of the 2022 plan. Oil production at the Karachaganak field amounted to 11.3 million tons - 103.8 percent of the plan. At Kashagan, oil production amounted to 12.7 million tons - 109.5 percent.
Oil exports in 2022 reached 64.3 million tons, or 103.4 percent of the plan.
Kazakhstan also plans to produce 90.5 million tons of oil in 2023, of which 71 million are planned to be exported.
The volume of oil production in Kazakhstan at the end of 2021 amounted to 85.9 million tons, in 2020-85.7 million tons.
