BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 27. Plans are underway to construct a multifunctional logistics center in Kyrgyzstan's Chuy region, Trend reports.

The project agreement has been signed by the head of the region Kanat Jumagaziev, and the director of Kyrgyzstan’s Alkanov Group LLC, Azamat Erdeshov.

The project is estimated to cost $20 million and will involve the construction of a multifunctional trade and logistics center, agricultural product storage warehouses equipped with washing, packaging, and calibration lines, and laboratories covering a total area of 10,080 square meters. An additional 20,160 square meters will be dedicated to dry storage.

The implementation of this project is expected to enable small and medium-sized businesses in the country to transition from offline to online sales, facilitate the efficient distribution of products at national and international levels, enhance regional accessibility, and simplify the export of goods.

There is also consideration for the introduction of an innovative IT product within the center, promoting interaction between local and foreign producers and buyers, thereby establishing the manufacturer's reliability through information provision.

According to the National Committee of Kyrgyzstan, cargo transportation by all modes of transportation in the country reached 35.477 million tons from January through September 2023, increasing by 4.1 million tons, or 13.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
