The number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 25.3 million from January through October 2021, which is 3.3 percent more compared to the same period last year (24.4 million), Trend reports, referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
The number of payment terminals installed in the country during the specified period decreased from 438,300 to 435,400.
At the same time, the number of installed ATMs increased by 10 percent from January through October 2021 (12,700) in comparison with the same period last year.
During the corresponding period, the volume of transactions through payment terminals in Uzbekistan amounted to 87 trillion soums ($8 billion), which is 33.8 percent more compared to the same period in 2020 (65 trillion soums or $6 billion).
