BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. The regulatory capital of the banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 79.2 trillion soums ($7.2 billion) as of September 1, 2022, which is an increase of 23.3 percent compared to the same period last year (64.2 trillion soums or $5.8 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
During this period, the capital of the first tier accounted for 66.5 trillion soums ($6 billion), which is an increase of 21.4 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (54.8 trillion soums, or $4.9 billion).
The capital of the second tier as of September 1, 2022, increased by 34.8 percent and reached 12.7 trillion soums ($1.1 billion). As of September 1, 2021, this indicator amounted to 9.4 trillion soums ($854.2 million).
At the same time, the capital of the first tier accounted for 84 percent of the total regulatory capital, and the second tier accounted for 16 percent.
