Drilling operations will launch in the near future on Iran's South Pars gas field's offshore section, the Pars Oil and Gas Company's managing director said.
Mousa Souri added that construction of the onshore refinery of the phase 19 is complete by 40 percent, the Mehr News Agency reported. The aim of development South Pars gas field phase 19 is to produce 50 million cubic meters of refined gas per day scheduled to be injected to the national gas pipeline network.
The project also intends to produce 80 thousand barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulfur each day.
Production of 1.05 thousand tons of LPG and one million ton of ethane, as petrochemical feedstock, per year are among the other goals of the phase 19 development.
The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
