Deputy Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Reza Bahonar said that the majority of current economic problems are due to the weak policies adopted by the administration of incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
According to Bahonar, Iran's economic growth is belowe 4 per cent, Fars News Agency reported.
Bahonar is running for president as a member of the Principlists' Quintet Coalition.
Independent candidate Mohammad Saidi-Kia also slammed the current administration for what he describes as weak management of the country's affairs.
The former housing minister said that Ahmadinejad's cabinet had not seriously responded economic problems .
The Iranian president has repeatedly defended his economic policies, saying they've been effective.
Iran faced above 30-percent inflation during last solar year, ended on March 19, while the economic contraction comprised 0.9 percent. Iran's national currency has dropped 40 percent in value during the last solar year.
