Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said that Iran will consider all options in case the country is attacked from the outside, ISNA reported.
"If the Iranian nation is under threat, we will consider all options, and Strait of Hormuz is one of those options," Pourdastan noted.
Iranian officials have earlier been saying that Iran can close down the strait of Hormuz, which is a vital path for oil transportation from the region.
Pourdastan also said that Iranian army and IRGC plan to hold several joint military excercises in the country on the occasion of Iran's national Army day on September 31.
Iran's army commander also noted that latest achievements of Iran's army will be presented at the country's national army day celebrations. He did not disclose any further details.
