Nakhchivan AR denies information about existence of bird flu

“The information spread by the Turkish TV channel TRT-1 about appearance of bird flue at the Azerbaijani-Turkish border is not true,” Abil Abilov, the head of the Veterinary Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR), told Trend.

He noted that the Azerbaijani Veterinary Service addressed to their Turkish counterparts in this regard.

It should be mentioned that perish of birds was registered in the Aralig settlement, the Igdir province, Turkey, located in 60-70 km from the Azerbaijani-Turkish border.

According to Abilov, the Hygiene and Epidemiology Center at the customs stations of the Nakhchivan AR and the Veterinary Service work round o’clock. Prophylactic measures are taken in the republic and no fact of infection has been registered so far.
