SUMGAYIT, Azerbaijan, October 24. Products of Azərbaycan Vanhong Ceramics Co LLC ceramic tile production enterprise in Sumgayit will be exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia, general director of LLC Wang Zhi Yi told reporters, Trend reports.
"The total investment cost of Azərbaycan Vanhong Ceramics Co. is more than 85 million manat ($49.9 million). The enterprise is built on a territory of more than 20 hectares. About 20 percent of ceramic products will be exported to a number of CIS countries. The enterprise provides permanent jobs for 484 people (400 of whom are citizens of Azerbaijan). At the initial stage, it is planned to produce 60x60 and 60x120 ceramic tiles (both glossy and non-glossy); at the next stage, 70x150, 80x160, and so on. The main difference and advantage of our ceramic tile plant from other enterprises is that our plant can simultaneously produce ceramic tile products of 60x60 and 60x120 sizes," he added.
Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park was established by the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated December 21, 2011. This is the first industrial park established in Azerbaijan. It is the largest in the South Caucasus.
Enterprises for the production and processing of competitive products in petrochemical and other priority sectors operate on the territory of the industrial park, which has an area of 583.5 hectares. The park's resident status has been granted to 38 business entities with a total investment volume of about 5.8 billion manat ($3.4 billion). As of today, residents have invested more than 5.4 billion manat ($3.1 billion) in the industrial park. Out of 38 registered residents, 20 are already functioning.
